Fusarium Secondary Metabolite Content in Naturally Produced and Artificially Provoked FHB Pressure in Winter Wheat

چکیده

Fusarium head blight (FHB) is an important disease of wheat and production mycotoxins makes it a major threat in most wheat-producing areas worldwide. This study aimed to identify the impact epidemic FHB conditions (usage artificial inoculation) on mycotoxin levels unprocessed wheat. were monitored at two locations treatments (natural infection inoculation with graminearum F. culmorum) where 13 evaluated by LC/MS-MS six winter varieties. Due favorable for fungi during flowering period location Tovarnik, varieties had higher severity increased accumulation, compared Osijek. The abundant treatment deoxynivalenol (DON), culmorin (CUL) hydroxyculmorins. In natural infection, DON did not exceed maximum limits set EU. Varieties lower initial resistance accumulated even naturally infected samples Tovarnik. These results highlighted environment variation accumulation than general resistance. Furthermore, concentration also contained elevated CUL hydroxyculmorins, showing that can have possible role virulence. evaluations provide information about genetic varieties, as well risk assessment considering conditions.

Forecasting of Fusarium head blight and deoxynivalenol content in winter wheat with FusaProg

Fusarium head blight is one of the most serious cereal diseases of the world. Epidemics of Fusarium head blight can lead to a decline in grain quality and yield. In addition, grains often become contaminated with mycotoxins, which are harmful to humans and animals. In a field survey of winter wheat in Switzerland, Fusarium graminearum proved to be the most prevalent species responsible for head...

Potentially harmful secondary metabolites produced by indoor Chaetomium species on artificially and naturally contaminated building materials.

The presence of the fungal genus Chaetomium and its secondary metabolites in indoor environments is suspected to have a negative impact on human health and well-being. About 200 metabolites have been currently described from Chaetomium spp., but only the bioactive compound group, chaetoglobosins, have been screened for and thus detected in buildings. In this study, we used a liquid chromatograp...

Molecular Characterization of a Fungus Producing Membrane Active Metabolite and Analysis of the Produced Secondary Metabolite

Background: The majority of studies on soil Aspergillus concern the isolation and characterization of the antimicrobial compounds produced by this organism. Our previous studies indicated an isolated Aspergillus strain soil to be of interest, and this subject is further investigated here. Method:  Soil samples of various locations in Iran were collected. Extract from Aspergillus sp. culture was...

Epigenetics Serves Genetics: Fusarium Head Blight (FHB) Resistance in Elite Wheat Germplasm

Current gene introgression-based approaches have made only modest progress toward the goal of developing Canadian wheat cultivars with strong resistance to Fusarium head blight (FHB). Re-examining comparisons of gene induction in resistant and susceptible nearisogenic lines of ‘Sumai 3’, a well-established source of FHB resistance, suggested that resistance was conditioned by effective expressi...
